Zael's Vertical Slice involves running up a wall or other vertical surface, then leaping down and performing a slicing attack that hits a wide area. Skilful use of the Vertical Slice will allow you to deal massive damage to a group of enemies you have drawn to one place via Gathering. The Vertical Slice also has the ability to dispel Magic Circles in the same way as Gale.

Special attacks can be performed using "Spirit," which is accumulated during battles in a variety of ways. Each character has their own Spirit Attack. Spirit Attacks are activated through Command Mode. All of them are powerful attacks that can quickly turn the tide of battle.
